Why Starting Over Was the Best Decision I Ever Made for My Health by Miriam Rees
As I sit here on this peaceful Sunday afternoon, I’m reflecting on just how blessed and grateful I feel. Over the past few months, my family and I have experienced some incredible changes—changes that have not only brought peace to our hearts, but also put me on a brand new path toward starting over for better health.
Returning to Virginia: Our Family’s Journey to Starting Over for Better Health
Not long ago, my husband and I made the big decision to move back to Virginia. After spending some time in Florida, we realized that although the sunshine state offered adventure, it didn’t offer the peace and purpose we were searching for.
Florida life had its fun moments, but in truth, it was hard. We had dreamed of living there for years, and when the opportunity came, we went for it. But deep down, we discovered it wasn’t where we were meant to plant roots. Sometimes, you have to experience the wrong thing to fully appreciate the right one.
Moving home was the first step in starting over for better health, both physically and emotionally.
Grateful for a Second Chance to Start Over for Better Health
One of the biggest blessings of returning to Virginia was rejoining my previous employer. Before we moved, I had worked there for five years. Now, by God’s grace, I’m back—and stepping into a new role as a Therapeutic Weight Loss Expert and weight-loss coach in training.
I’m entering my third week and already learning so much. It’s inspiring, energizing, and honestly, it feels like I’ve come full circle. Starting over for better health doesn’t just mean changing your body—it’s about aligning your life with purpose.
Experiencing the Benefits of Starting Over for Better Health
Just a week ago, I began the very same weight-loss program we offer at Genesis Health Solutions. And I’m already seeing early results that are keeping me motivated:
✅ Increased energy
✅ Weight loss (5 pounds down!)
✅ Mental clarity
✅ Better focus
While I still have a long way to go—my goal is to lose 50 pounds—I now believe with full confidence that this journey is possible. What’s made the difference? A new mindset and the willingness to hit reset.
Starting over for better health has helped me reconnect with myself, my goals, and my faith.
Why Genesis Health Solutions Was the Key to Starting Over for Better Health
Rejoining Genesis Health Solutions has been the best decision I’ve made in a long time. I no longer feel anxious or confused about what to eat or how to stay on track. This program gives me structure, support, and most importantly—peace of mind.
God has truly blessed me with this opportunity to realign my life and start fresh. Starting over for better health has opened my eyes to what’s truly possible when you trust the process and follow God’s lead.
It’s Never Too Late: Starting Over for Better Health Begins With One Step
Sometimes, the hardest thing to do is admit that you need a fresh start. But admitting it is also the bravest.
We may have spent years following diet trends, believing myths, or simply not knowing what to do. But when you finally decide that starting over for better health is more important than staying stuck, you gain power.
You take your life back.
It All Starts With Your Big Why
The first—and most important—step in starting over for better health is understanding your Big Why. Ask yourself why do you want to lose weight, feel better? And why now?
If your answer is just to “look good” for someone else, then you’re missing the real power behind lasting change.
For me, my Big Why is to prove to myself that I can overcome my biggest struggle. That’s what fuels me. That’s what keeps me going on the hard days. And that’s what I return to, again and again.
