Part 7 – What This Journey Has Taught Me
Introduction
If there’s one thing this journey has taught me about breath, faith, and gratitude, it’s that the simplest things in life are often the ones we take for granted the most.
It’s how I see breath.
Something so simple.
So automatic.
Something I once took for granted…
Is now something I am deeply, intentionally grateful for.
Where I Am Now
After multiple procedures and treatments…
I am now around 95% open.
Healing.
Progressing.
Continuing forward.
And while this journey isn’t “over”…
I’m no longer walking it the same way.
A New Perspective on Healing
I used to think healing meant something would be completely gone.
Finished. Over. Done.
But now I see it differently.
Healing is also:
- Having a plan
- Having the right doctors
- Having the ability to breathe again
- Having peace in the process
God Provided Every Step
Looking back, I can clearly see God’s hand in everything:
- The peace in the ER
- The emergency intervention that saved my life
- The ability to have surgery
- The financial provision
- The doctors placed in my life
- The ongoing treatment plan
None of it was random.
A Deeper Faith
This journey didn’t just change my health.
It deepened my faith.
I’ve learned to trust God in ways I never had to before.
To lean on Him when I didn’t have control.
To find peace in situations that didn’t make sense.
Scripture Reflection
“Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.” — Psalm 150:6
This verse means something entirely different to me now.
Because I understand what it’s like to struggle for breath.
Gratitude in the Present
I don’t wait for everything to be perfect to be grateful.
I’m grateful now.
For:
- Every breath
- Every step forward
- Every moment of peace
- Every answer God has provided
Living Forward with Faith
I don’t know exactly what the future holds.
But I’m not afraid of it.
Because now I know:
God is already there.
Devotional Thought
What if the very thing you’re walking through right now…
Is what God is using to deepen your faith and reshape your perspective?
Prayer
Lord,
Thank You for every breath.
Thank You for carrying me through the hardest moments and showing me Your faithfulness.
Help me continue to trust You, no matter what the future holds.
Amen.
