Part 6 – Listening to Your Body and Letting God Lead
Introduction
One of the hardest parts about a diagnosis labeled “idiopathic”…
Is that it comes without answers.
No clear cause.
No definite explanation.
Just a condition… and a path forward.
But as I’ve walked through this journey, I’ve found myself asking:
What if there’s more to the story?
When You Start Connecting the Dots
In 2025, I experienced significant loss.
I lost my mom in June.
I lost one of my dogs in September.
And somewhere in the middle of all of that…
My symptoms started returning.
The Weight of Stress on the Body
Grief is heavy.
Stress is real.
And our bodies carry more than we often realize.
Around that same time, I also began pushing myself physically again—getting back into workouts and routines.
And I can’t help but wonder…
Was it all connected?
Considering Hormones and Life Seasons
Another layer to this journey has been navigating perimenopause.
Hormonal shifts.
Changes in my body.
Things that don’t feel as predictable as they once did.
And again, I found myself asking:
Could this be part of it?
When Answers Aren’t Clear
The truth is…
I may never fully know why this happened.
And that’s not always easy to accept.
But what I’ve learned is this:
Not having all the answers doesn’t mean you can’t still move forward.
God Sees What We Can’t
Even when we don’t understand the “why”…
God does.
He sees the full picture.
The things we can’t connect.
The things we can’t explain.
Scripture Reflection
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways,” declares the Lord. — Isaiah 55:8
There is peace in knowing that I don’t have to figure everything out.
Because God already has.
Learning to Listen
This journey has taught me to listen more closely:
- To my body
- To my stress levels
- To my need for rest
- To God’s guidance
Not out of fear…
But out of wisdom.
Devotional Thought
You don’t have to have all the answers to walk in faith.
Sometimes faith is simply trusting God with the questions you don’t have answers to yet.
Prayer
Lord,
Help me trust You even when I don’t understand the “why.”
Give me wisdom to care for my body and discernment to listen when something feels off.
Remind me that You are in control, even when things don’t make sense.
Amen.
